Description
We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our growing team of 18 in Larkspur, California. Our growth is organic and profitable. We are not a fast pace "grow for the sake of growth" type of company. In fact, we take our time. Our motto is measure twice, cut once. We are not perfectionists. We strive to do the right thing, at the right time, the right way. Our team consists of 3 sales, 1 finance, 3 engineers, 2 asset managers, 3 project managers, 1 software developer and 2 analysts. We also have three part-time contractors for accounting and back-log engineering tasks. We identify, develop, and manage clean energy projects for our customers. Our projects consist of solar, storage, and energy efficiency installations for public sector customers. We are expanding our services into micro-grid and Distributed Energy Resource (DER) development for Community Choice Aggregators (CCAs). To succeed at our mission, we need a team oriented Project Engineer to support our Project Managers, Sales, and Asset Management teams in developing projects.

As the Project Engineer, you will report to the Director of Solar and Storage. We expect you to be comfortable with electrical power systems and design. More importantly to succeed at TerraVerde you must be able to exercise sound engineering judgement and constantly prioritize which problems to solve.

A few perks of working at TerraVerde

You will not be able to tell your family and friends of a typical day at TerraVerde. Instead expect to talk about the varying challenges you encounter and problems you help solve.

Every other Friday is dubbed Your Day Friday' which means you have the day to do what you wish. Work on a side company initiative of your choosing or take the day off and enjoy a three weekend.

Opportunity to work in a true team organization. We do not hire people that do not fit our culture. We mean it. We take our culture seriously and work hard to maintain an enjoyable working environment. For example, we close the office for two days every summer and go for a company camping/backpacking trip to just hang out and enjoy time away from our the office.

Responsibilities

Perform solar and battery system design review and analysis engineering. Aid in design studies and developing design options for projects which incorporate customer requirements, prepare project study reports, meet applicable engineering and industry standards, and provide the optimum cost effective design using state-of-the-art design practices.
