We are currently seeking a talented individual for the position of Generation Engineer l - Senior.  The successful candidate will provide engineering technical expertise and support at the Power Plant, including engineering design, project management, contract administration, budget preparation, technical assistance, and testing and evaluation of plant equipment and systems to provide optimum reliability and efficiency.

Position-Related Responsibilities

  • Providing primary engineering expertise for plant group, including technical evaluations, economic analysis, drawing and document preparation.

  • Coordinate and control the assigned projects.

  • Participate in the design and implementation of the group responsibility training. 

  • Assist the Superintendent or Plant Manager with the O&M and Capital budgeting and budget adherence.  To develop accurate and comprehensive budgets and monitor them for adherence.

  • To supervise or perform equipment testing, and performance monitoring or testing throughout the plant.  Collect, evaluate, and provide equipment recommendations on a routine or as-needed basis.

  • Engineers l - lll

  • This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED.  Ability to travel, as required, to support the plant.

Engineer l :   Assists Generation Engineer IV in designing and documenting plant projects.  

Preferred Qualifications:  B.S. degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.  0-1 years of professional experience.  

Engineer ll:  Assists Generation Engineer IV designing and documenting plant projects.

Preferred Qualifications:  Same as Level I and 1-3 years professional experience.

Engineer lll:  Evaluate and develop projects with minimum supervision and direction from other engineers.  May direct technicians as required.  

Preferred qualifications:  Same as Level II and 3-5 years professional experience.  

Engineer IV:  Independently evaluate and develop projects.  Works with minimal supervision and directs other engineers and technicians as required.

Preferred qualifications:  Same as Level III and 5-8 years of professional experience.

Senior Engineer:  Top level individual contributor.  Provides leadership; often developing and coordinating all phases of multiple projects.

Preferred qualifications: Same as Level IV and 8 or more years professional experience.  Have obtained or progressing toward professional registration.
