Tucson Electric Power, one of Arizona's leading utility companies, is seeking candidates for the position of Maintenance Scheduler at it's power plant facility in Springerville. The Springerville Generating Station operates four coal-fired units north of Springerville - a small town community located near the beautiful White Mountains in northeastern Arizona at an elevation of approximately 7000 feet. This area is noted for it's four seasons and year round activities; including hunting, fishing, snow skiing, hiking, mountain biking and more. The primary duty of a Maintenance Scheduler is to detail all coordination needed to execute the weekly work schedule in a safe, timely, and efficient manner through the use of the work planning process.  The Scheduler works closely with Maintenance, Operations, Technical Services as well as other support personnel to accomplish this duty.

Essential Functions: [As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, these include the following responsibilities, minimum job knowledge, skills, and abilities.  This is not necessarily an all-inclusive listing.]

Position-Related Responsibilities:

  • Support and promotes all aspects of Station's Daily Maintenance Plan (DMP)
  • Works in collaboration with Maintenance/Operations Coordinators and Supervisors to develop weekly schedules.
    • Must ensure that equipment downtime is utilized in the most efficient manner possible.
    • Develop, monitor and adjust schedules for assigned activities.
    • Support the area Supervisor to ensure readiness and availability of materials and equipment resources.
  • Conduct and participate in daily, weekly and monthly planning meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Creates and further develops weekly schedule compliance metrics and reports.
  • Collaborate with the Outage Scheduler, first line Supervisors Maintenance and Operations Supervisors in the long range planning and scheduling for planned major production shutdowns, including but not limited to, job identification, job priority, resource requirements, materials requirements, budget forecasts and interdepartmental coordination.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining the integrity of information in the Work Management System to achieve the assigned planning and scheduling objectives in assigned area, including asset and location databases.
  • Assist in administering, maintaining security, reporting, maintenance, and daily operation of applicable project management and work management software tools.
  • Responsible for the Safety of workers at the station.  Assists in accident investigations as required.   
  • This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.

Management Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the Company's management principles, policies and programs are consistently practiced and to continually support the Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Comply with and administer the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Assume fiduciary responsibility for operating the business and provide recommendations on cost improvement measures.
  • Ensure that the Performance Management program is administered uniformly and effectively.

  • Good organizational and time management skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years Power Plant Experience Operations and/or Maintenance or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum 4 years experience with a scheduling software and 4 years Maximo experience or equivalent CMMS software
  • Verbal communication skills and written communication skills utilizing Microsoft applications i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel etc.
  • Computer literate & proficient; must pass a computer proficiency exercise
  • The ability to convey techniques associated with software programs & train in the user interface for work management process
  • Understanding of preventative maintenance programs
