Job Summary
The Senior IT Auditor will report to the IT Audit Director and will be a critical part of the Vistra Audit Team. The Senior IT Auditor will assist in maturing an effective IT internal audit program, including identifying, planning, organizing, executing, and reporting on audits that work towards Vistra's goals and objectives. The position will have a key role in leading the assessment of the company's compliance with requirements of SOX as well as serving as a key advisor for new systems (SAP) and emerging technologies.Job Description
Key Accountabilities
- Plan the IT audit, including the development of the audit objectives, scope, time-line, and team assignments when applicable.
- Conduct interviews to gain an understanding of the activities being audited and communicate the objectives/scope.
- Identify and assess the risks associated with the area under audit.
- Identify and evaluate the controls designed to mitigate the identified risks.
- Test the controls for operational effectiveness/compliance and provide recommendations to address identified control gaps.
- Summarize issues identified and prepare the audit report.
- Obtain client ownership for any recommendations stemming from the audit.
- Support leading new or less experienced auditors.
- Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements
- Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications in information systems, computer science, engineering, accounting, finance, math or related field
- 4+ years of information technology audit experience
- CISA, CPA, or CIA certifications
- Proficient understanding of commonly used internal control frameworks, including COSO and COBIT and knowledge of audit methodologies and developing key internal audit deliverables
- Technical knowledge in auditing applications and infrastructure systems
- Experience with data analysis and data visualization tools such as Alteryx, Power Tools, and Tableau.
- Experience with auditing SAP
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience in electric power generation, electric retail or energy trading businesses.
