Description

SUMMARY:

Under the guidance of executive leadership, assists in the formulation, strategy, presentation, and implementation of the Company's public policy initiatives in various manners to elected and appointed local, state, and federal officials and key opinion leaders. Analyzes proposed legislative actions for impact on the Company and recommends positions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Advocates the Company's position before state and federal governmental bodies

Maintains effective professional contacts with elected and key appointed state and federal officials, and other people involved in the state political environment

Represents a positive example of the Company within the community

Analyzes public policy issues regarding local, state, and federal governmental affairs

Identifies and makes recommendations on public policy matters to management

Communicates public policy positions both internally and externally

Acts as a positive representative of the Company

COMPETENCIES:      

Broad knowledge of Company operations and issues

In depth knowledge of key business concepts, operating issues, and terminology

Ability to master the complexities of governmental affairs and develop expertise

Demonstrated ability to grasp legislative and administrative processes and to creatively fashion legislative strategy for the benefit of the Company

Ability to analyze and communicate a balanced interest approach both internally and externally

Ability to beneficially negotiate complex issues in dynamic and sometimes hostile environments

Ability to explain Company issues in a forthright and understandable manner

Ability to be proactively solve problems

Maintains a professional demeanor, high ethical standards, and credibility within the Company     

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in a related field with seven to nine years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must possess a current, legally valid driver's license and meet the company's driving record requirements.
