Summary

We are seeking a Billing Representative. This position will be responsible for duties associated with customer billing, meter reading and cycle management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Run and review reports for implausible meter readings prior to upload for bill print.
  • Issue re-reads and enters corrected readings in billing system.
  • Perform daily close for billing.
  • Assign meters to premises.
  • Issue orders for meter changes.
  • Implement routing change program.
  • Handle monthly billing tasks for Market Based Rate customers.
  • Provide backup assistance for incoming customer calls and assists with call volume during lunch schedule rotation and other phone-related duties.
  • The above is representative of the level and kind of duties and responsibilities, which are assigned to this position. As workload or availability of personnel requires, the person performs either temporarily or permanently, other duties that are similar or related.
  • All other duties assigned.

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • One or more years of related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
  • Ability to demonstrate the core and job category competencies: customer-focused, results-driven, teamwork, communications, adaptability, initiative, problem solving and quality.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
  • Ability to use general and specialized computer applications to manage data.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret work-related documents.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, co-workers and supervisors.
  • Ability to carry out detailed instructions and solve problems.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts and accounting principles to work-related operations.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and meet strict deadlines.

Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Work is performed in a shared, open-office environment.
  • Typically, 8 hours a day, Monday through Friday. Overtime and/or travel may be required.
  • Must adapt to long periods of close viewing of a personal computer and sitting at workstation.
