JOB SUMMARY:

The Instrumentation and Electrical Engineer will have great opportunity to gain hands on knowledge by performing routine tasks using well defined standards and procedures under close supervision of extremely knowledgeable mentors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 
Duties include:

• Preparation and review of calculations for control, relief, and shut down valves, flow orifices and other process instrumentation, etc.
• Design of PLC/DCS, pneumatic, and hydraulic control panels
• Preparation and review of equipment and instrument data sheets
• Preparation and review of equipment, cables, tray and control systems specifications
• Preparation and review of test and commissioning procedures
• CFR/USCG regulatory compliance verification
• Review and checking of drawings and packages for instrumentation, PLC/DCS, fire & gas, paging & alarm systems, junction boxes, schematics, wiring diagrams, UPS, DC systems, PLC/DCS function specifications, HMIs, layouts, cable & tubing trays, One-Lines, fabrication packages for generators, switchgear, MCCs, lighting distribution, building, etc.
• Utilizing SPI/Intools, ETAP, Fisher/ISA valve sizing, SIS, and other software for preparation of design, bid and construction packages
• Working knowledge of basic PLC and HMI programming logic
• Work under the supervision of an experienced Electrical and/or Instrumentation Engineer.
• Gain exposure to a variety of electrical, instrumentation and control system challenges in the design of Oil and Gas facilities.
• Gain exposure to a variety of software packages used in the everyday operations of an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering department

Job Requirements

JOB STANDARDS:

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and/or Instrumentation engineering from an accredited university
• Prefer candidates with prior Electrical and/or Instrumentation experience
• Prefer Professional Engineer (PE), Engineering Intern (EI) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
• 5 – 15 years’ work experience

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Work is primarily conducted in an office environment (Private or Semi-Private Office) but also requires occasional travel to off-site work locations.
• Field duties require outdoor work in a plant or offshore platform atmosphere;
• Interaction with other team members, as well as supervisors and client personnel;
• Working offshore or in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels;
• Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection;
• May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes;
• May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift and carry 20 pounds;
• Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectively;
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodations, which permits employee to conduct analysis and investigations;
• Sufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation, which permit the employee to perform routine office duties;
• Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations.
