Description
This electrical engineer will work on the design engineering and construction monitoring of substations with a focus on protection and control in relation to power delivery projects. You will be involved in all aspects of substation projects including but not limited to: completing detailed scope documents, developing one line diagrams, producing logic diagrams, conducting fault studies, proficiently performing necessary calculations, assembling relay point assignments, developing schematics, front views, and bills of material. Conducting a proper QA/QC check on a P&C package will also be required.

Must have thorough knowledge of current principles and practices of substation engineering. You will individually evaluate, select, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making adaptations and modifications. Work will include multiple projects of moderate to large size. You may assign tasks to and coordinate work with entry-level engineers, technicians, or administrative staff, and may serve as Project Manager.

Must have capability to do:

  • Schematics Design
  • Relay Settings and Calculations
  • Relay Point Assignment (RPA) and Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) Configurations

Software proficiencies:

  • ASPEN
  • MATH CADD

Requirements

Professional Engineer’s License required for the position.

Required:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program
  • 10+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.

Preferred:

  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
  • Experience in consulting services or electric utility environments.
