Description
Gain hands on experience in a variety areas, including detailed engineering and project management for power related projects.
Major Responsibilities:
- Under the general direction of the supervising engineer, develop detailed design drawing, plans and specifications for new installations, additions, upgrades, and enhancements
- Ensure all applicable engineering, industry and ENMAX Corporation standards, codes, regulations and public safety are applied in designs.
- Authenticate own work and work prepared by EIT's.
- Assist with testing and commissioning, investigate and troubleshoot problems, and provide solutions. Provide engineering support to field staff.
- Create, monitor, and report on project scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
- Equipment and material specification and procurement.
- Provide exceptional customer service by proactively managing client expectations and resolving technical and project issues in a timely manner.
- Prepare quotes, contract and tender documents for bids, review and approve estimates, Identify and assist in process improvements.
- Provide peer reviews.
Requirements
Education Required:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
- P.Eng status with The Association of Professionals in Engineering and Geoscience in Alberta (APEGA)
Qualifications & Experience:
- 4 - 6 years of related design experience,
- Knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution Systems, including codes, regulations, work practices, and safety, would be an asset
- Electrical utility or light rail transit knowledge
- Consulting Engineering knowledge
