Enjoy detailed design and project management in the areas of substations and protection and control. Seize the opportunity to project manage your work from conception to energization.
Major Responsibilities:
- Under the general direction of the Supervising Engineer, develop detailed design drawings, plans, and specifications for power and substation projects.
- Ensure all applicable engineering, industry and ENMAX Corporation standards, codes, regulations and public safety are applied in designs.
- Authenticate own work.
- Assist with testing and commissioning, investigate and troubleshoot problems, and provide solutions. Provide engineering support to field staff.
- Create, monitor, and report on project scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
- Equipment and material specification and procurement.
- Provide exceptional customer service; proactively managing client expectations and resolving technical and project issues in a timely manner.
- Prepare quotes, contract and tender documents for bids, review and approve estimates, identify and assist in process improvements.
- Provide peer reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of related substation design experience.
- Knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution Systems, including codes, regulations, work practices, and safety, would be an asset.
- Electrical utility knowledge.
- Traction Power experience would be an asset.
