Description
Reporting to the Product Manager, this position is responsible for new product and special order design implementation, interpreting design requirements, ECN implementation, manage product BOMs, provide documentation and manufacturing support for fixturing/tooling, and to determine best assembly methods. This position will work closely with Production, Engineering, Scheduling, and Purchasing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage new product designs from engineering to factory floor.
- Manage orders for customer "specials".
- Work with design engineering to interpret customer specifications and ensure end product meets them.
- Provide documentation support (manage engineering change documentation system, work instructions) as required by manufacturing.
- Develop costing for special and standard products.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
- Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering.
- Mechanical Engineering Technologist.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- 1-5 years of experience in a manufacturing-based design or manufacturing role.
- Demonstrated computer-based skills: 3D modeling experience required.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good written, communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytic skills.
- Experience in implementing new products designs.
SPECIAL TRAINING:
- Familiarity with 3D SolidEdge technical drawing software or equivalent.
- HVAC background desirable.
