Position-Related Responsibilities:
- Responsible for UNS risk-based Information Security Technology standards, architecture, and processes--ensuring they are well-designed, documented, and communicated and follow corporate technology standards.
- Assists the Director, IT Operations and Security with corporate IT strategies and vision that align with Business Area and IS Departmental strategies.
- Supports the IS Application and IT Engineering and Operations groups in developing and maintaining strong, productive relationships with Business Area leaders and executives.
- Assists in the development, implementation and monitoring of associated corporate IT standards, strategies, and policies for security effectiveness and promotes companywide training and awareness to achieve better security.
- Fosters a collaborative security environment to enhance UNS security posture.
Communicates risk-based security information to management
- Participates on projects as a key member of IS to ensure business requirements for systems are effectively planned and implemented, and integrated with the corporation's overall Application and Infrastructure Portfolio plans.
- Understands business processes and helps define IT Systems in support of these processes, while ensuring security, and promotes and ensures full understanding and utilization of IT Systems by the corporation.
- Develops and manages budgets that support the cost-effective implementation of IT security strategies, tactics and operating plans.
- Researches and keeps informed of new Information Technologies and assists in evaluating for appropriate security solutions within the company.
- Directs, supervises, and mentors the IT Security staff.
- Works closely with the IT Compliance Management Office to help assure compliance with IT-related requirements from regulators and auditors
- This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.
Management Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the Company's management principles, policies and programs are consistently practiced and continually support the Affirmative Action Plan.
- Comply with and administer the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement while supervising bargaining unit employees.
- Assume fiduciary responsibility for operating the business and provide recommendations on cost improvement measures.
- Ensure that the Performance Management program is administered uniformly and effectively.
Knowledge, skills and abilities (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered):
- Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline. Masters Degree in business and/or technology is preferred.
- 10 years of experience in the support of Information Technology, preferably in an IT security management capacity.
- Experience with NERC or other similar IT regulators and regulatory frameworks is required
- 3 years technical experience in IT Security Engineering or Operations, along with applicable industry certifications (CISSP, GISP) is preferred.
- Experience supervising a staff of 15 or more is preferred.
- A comprehensive knowledge of Information Technology subjects and extensive knowledge of IT Security hardware, software, and processes with the ability to keep informed of new technologies
- Familiarity with IT Governance and other organizational processes (Project Management, ITIL, SDLC, etc) is preferred.
- Experience with Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery processes and methodologies are preferred.
- Knowledge of IT Systems, Networking, Applications and other technical practices, technologies, and methodologies is preferred.
- A high degree of human relation skills are required to deal with personnel situations and maintain positive relations with other areas of the company.
- A broad utility business experience is preferred.
- A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including public speaking and business writing.
