Brief Description
We have a unique opportunity for an entry level Financial Analyst to work with our Rates/Regulatory team in researching, investigating, developing recommendations, reporting and testifying on proper utility policies, rates, and economics.
Detailed Description
You would become accountable for preparing and submitting timely and accurate regulatory reports and preparing financial information and operational data necessary for filing rate applications to the Arizona Corporation Commission. You would be trained to prepare sections of regulatory applications and complete written testimony and exhibits with supporting papers, as well as respond to interrogatories and testimony. The Rates/Regulatory group is a respected and important function within each regulated utility. It is a specific discipline at the nexus of economics, law, engineering and accounting.
Job Requirements
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in business, math, finance, economics or engineering. Advanced degree is a plus. In addition to a degree, we require 1-2 years of financial analysis/accounting experience. Water utility industry experience/knowledge a plus.
With assistance and support, you will gain the ability to prepare complex analysis and translate financial issues; therefore, excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills are required as well as strong communication skills, and solid time management and organizing skills. You must have basic knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts and understanding analytical concepts for financial analysis as well as US GAAP accounting practices. Requires skills with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
