Job Description

This Engineering Manager position is contingent upon contract award. Candidate subject to Public Trust suitability screening.

This position is for a seat management contract that will provide our Federal Government customer with all aspects of end user and mobility and PC platform support. The contract is expected to be awarded in early 2017.

Systems Engineering Manager responsible for leading the Systems Engineering Platform team. This team provides architecture, engineering and deep support for the standard operating environments across Microsoft platforms. This is a hands-on management position responsible for performing and directing activities related to platform administration, performance, availability, and system upgrades. Leads a relentless commitment to engineer, provision, and maintain a high level of standardization and configuration management across the user base. Responsible for managing and reporting on operational metrics for the platform team. Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure platform capabilities and functionality align with our customer demands.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver operational excellence for a mission-critical environment across dispersed locations and teams.
  • Lead a staff of technical engineers responsible for the architecture, engineering, and administration of the operating system and productivity platforms in support of business technology.
  • Deliver high quality Standard Operating Environments for Microsoft platforms along with utilizing configuration management solutions.
  • Ensure comprehensive post incident review in conjunction with the Problem Management team to prevent issues from reoccurring. Adhere to the change management policy to minimize the risk of disruption to business operations.
  • Define and document policies, procedures, and standards related to supported platforms and applications. Ensure all supported software meets compliancy standards.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams and vendors to ensure successful engagement on projects, initiatives, and business as usual activity.
  • Work collaboratively with Enterprise Architecture, to support the platform requirements and roadmap.
  • Drive opportunities to improve and automate work to improve outcomes and reduce cost.
  • Utilize excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
  • Manage, track and report on all Platform team key metrics.
Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • BS in technology-related or business-technology-related curriculum required.
  • MS preferred.
  • At least 10 years' experience in information systems or technology roles; minimum 3 years in a management role preferred.
  • Proven track record in communication, leadership, business analysis, process development, and administration.
  • Detailed knowledge of IT application operations concepts, architecture and information security.
  • Extensive experience in day-to-day support of critical applications with the ability to triage and prioritize production support issues.
  • Experience with Incident, Problem, Change, and Request management disciplines.
  • Combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered for this position.
