Description

The Project Engineer (Facilities) will work in a team environment, often in a leader role, assigned to lead multiple projects and programs and drive project success. The successful candidate will develop and deploy practical and innovative ways to identify and meet project goals. In this role you will be responsible for work that is less defined in scope, develop and execute objectives, plans, and schedules for self and others and have the ability to affect long and short term business goals.Essential Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities Include :

  • Serve as primary contact for Facility related project
  • Resolve specification and commercial issues, manage correspondence, provide periodic updates, ensure project goals are achieved, and negotiate / coordinate with Site Leaders as appropriate
  • Analyze production needs, and determine a technical solution including: electrical, plant utility services, floor space, and EHS requirements
  • Be responsibility for leading project teams to deliver results including; Engineering, Manufacturing, EHS, Quality, Sourcing, Logistics, Finance and Contracted Services
  • Lead project team to identify & manage risks, monitor budgets and schedules, and initiate corrective action where appropriate
  • Develop a statement of work, budget requirements, project plan, determine suitable vendors for bid release, review bids against SOW, award contract
  • Input purchase requisitions for all project related expenses
  • Manage outside contractors' performance, safety and quality of work
  • Ensure on-time delivery in accordance with project goals
  • Manage project risk issues including receivables, claims, contract changes, EHS and Quality compliance, and effective project closeout
  • Approve vendor invoices for payment
  • Have familiarity of OSHA 1910.119 (PSM), and demonstrate strengths and experience with HAZOP, Process Hazard Analysis, and Pre-Start-Up-Safety-Reviews associated with newly installed equipment
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a project management, project engineering, site construction, or manufacturing role

    Eligibility Requirement :

  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employmentDesired Characteristics:

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
  • Prior Chemical Plant Project Management Experienced Leading Design, Construction, and Commissioning and Start-Up
  • Established project management skills
  • Project Engineering, Project Management experience in chemical industry
  • OSHA 1910.119 (PSM) experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Stage Gate Project Process (FEL, Procurement, Design Development, Construction, Commissioning, Start-Up)
  • Construction management experience
  • Field engineering experience
  • Contract management experience
  • High energy level - self-starter
  • Technical knowledge of liquid, gas, and solids handling processing systems
  • Microsoft suite proficiency
  • Six Sigma or equivalent quality training
  • Sense of urgency in dealing with issues and tasks
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to effectively manage a matrix team / organization
  • Ability and willingness to anticipate events and develop adaptive strategies / remedies
  • Strong skills in customer relationship building, facilitation, and matrix management
  • GE Leadership Development program (PMDP, PMLP, OMLP, JOLP, RELP or equivalent)
