EPCOR has up to two (2) full-time permanent positions available! 

The Managers are responsible for the performance of either the Accounts Receivable group and Operations variance or the Corporate Accounting function (corporate support service groups and Encor). This includes ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and collections, or competitive retail accounting and reporting and achieving the required outcomes within specific timeframes.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Analysis, the Manager, Operational Accounting is accountable for, but not limited to:

  • Providing input to either the Corporate Accounting or the EDTI Finance business plans and directions.
  • Ensuring deliverables of direct report positions are aligned and integrated with the business plan.
  • Creating and managing a strong team of employees, including determination of optimal numbers, recruitment, retention, and development.
  • Providing financial guidance and expertise to Corporate Costs groups and the Business Units as required.
  • Identifying the necessary budget requires for the provision of accurate and timely invoicing, collections and operational variance analysis.
  • Developing, implementing and reviewing processes to ensure compliance with policies, standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring that the internal controls for Corporate Accounting are in compliance with C-Sox standards as set out by Internal Audit.
  • Compiling and reviewing the annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for the Corporate Costs groups and Competitive Retail.
  • Providing financial analysis and reporting for Operations and Accounts Receivable.
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • An accredited accounting designation (CPA) is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in progressively responsible accounting roles.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and regulatory accounting policies and practices.
  • Understanding of Accounts Receivable function.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply relevant knowledge and technical skills to adhere with financial accounting practices and policies.
  • Experience with Oracle financial systems and related support systems.

  • A requirement of working for EPCOR is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)

Hours of work: 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday
