Corix Utilities has an immediate career opportunity for two Claims CoordinatorsThis position is located in Buffalo Grove, Illinois  

Position Purpose: 

This position is responsible for the coordination of the day to day issues between ComEd, Call Center, Customers, Technicians and/or Installers. The Claims Coordinator receives inquiries from CSR's, Contract Manager and Corix Management and works with the team to resolve customer and employee issues. This position assists the Project Manager in coordinating all of the phases of customer related claims.     

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Receive customer claim inquiries from CSR's, ComEd Contract Manager and Corix Management. 
  2. Categorize the inquiries: 
    • a. Installation issues such as housekeeping, installer complaints, obstructions, etc.
    • b. Customer issues such as, but not limited to, tripping breakers, garage door openers, security lights, etc.
    • c. Potential Hot Socket Conditions
    • d. FLS visits for Obstructions
  3. Work with Electrical Repair and Frost Loop Contractors to resolve questions and coordinate appointments.
  4. Address, resolve and document inquiries and resolutions.
  5. Track, trend and report claims on a monthly basis.
  6. Complete Issues report utilizing a field tool (laptop, tablet) to ensure timely, comprehensive and consistent claims documentation.
  7. Meet with management on a weekly basis to review the previous week's accomplishments, current week's plans and any issues/concerns, key findings, month to date, quarter to date and year to date results.
  8. May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • Two (2) or more years experience as a Meter Reader/Technician/Installer.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to teach and train others.
  • Advanced meter reading, technician or installation skills. 
  • Computer skills using Microsoft office and the ability to retrieve and enter information into a hand held device or computer database.
  • Ability to read, write; and follow and complete written instructions, as well as the ability to communicate instructions clearly to others.
  • Ability to find locations/address by reading a map and hand held device. 
  • Ability to communicate and interact with customers in a professional manner. 
  • Must hold a valid drivers license.
  • Must pass Meter-Pro test
  • Ability to walk route, which includes stairs and unpaved/rough terrain areas.
  • Work Context/Mental Demands/Physical Demands:
  • Has access to confidential client information and employee files. 

This position requires working outdoors on an occasional basis in all weather environments including rain, snow, extreme cold, or high heat. Requires travel by car; may be exposed to road related hazards.  May be required to walk up to 10-15 miles daily which includes walking at a brisk pace, climbing stairs and walking on unpaved/rough terrain areas.  

Ability to perform physical duties such as lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted, walking, kneeling, twisting, turning, stooping, reaching,  and bending; getting in and out of vehicle. Exposed to unknown hazards at resident sites such as dogs. Depending on project, may be exposed to burn or electrocution hazards, or natural gas fumes. Must use safety equipment as required.
