The Gas Business Enablement (GBE) project is a major long-term investment in our US gas business to enhance compliance, improve customer service, rate case strategy and performance.  This newly created project will be a significant undertaking for the business as we standardize and simplify our operational processes, upgrade the technical systems they run on, build on our compliance programs in a rapidly changing external environment, develop and enhance how we use technology in the field and ensure we have the right talent and resource plans to successfully deliver to our customers.

Reporting to the Director, Change Management, Gas Business Enablement the successful candidate will work as part of the central Change Management Office (CMO) accountability for the execution of the full scope of the Change Management strategy, leading the change effort across the US Gas business.

The position will focus on the Business Engagement and Readiness elements as a primary discipline and work alongside the Business Enablement and Sustainment lead, ensuring we support the organizational to move through and sustain the Change.

This exciting new position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong business acumen and engagement and communication discipline to be part of a significant transformational effort, to truly transform the US Gas Business, across the full spectrum of not just people, process and systems, but the real effort to drive for outcomes and realization of business value and benefit realization and the sustainment of such value moving forward. It also simultaneously provides the opportunity to build a deeper understanding of the US gas business.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Leads the overarching business engagement & messaging strategy with all critical stakeholders of the Program. 
  • Partners with stakeholder(s) undergoing organizational change to develop stakeholder strategy, milestones and outcomes.
  • Liaises & builds relations with all appropriate stakeholders and key leads in various programs to ensure engagement strategy is consistent across all channels. 
  • Generates understanding of employee impacts associated with change and develop and share appropriate change strategies based on findings and sustainability within organisation
  • Leads the development and execution of a business readiness framework, to provide the right level of confidence and assurance around deployment and minimizing business interruption, building on lessons learned, risk appetite across the US Gas Business and GBE leadership
  • Ensure the change is managed in an effective way to achieve the desired business outcomes and benefits
  • Build the CMO service offering across the program to ensure consistent execution of change strategies and alignment
  • Develop and capitalize on opportunities to grow a closer alignment across program partners, developing a one team ethos mentality
  • Responsible for supporting cultural change and adoption by developing change metrics and evaluating the level of change adoption across the business
  • Support the development of an enduring National Grid US Change Capability across National Grid, better equipping the business to deal with ambiguity and sustain the current and future change efforts
  • Guiding and developing individuals to achieve their objectives in line with organisations plans, priorities.
Requirements

Capability Requirements:

  • Solid understanding & knowledge of effectively managing organizational change
  • Demonstrated experience creating and executing strategies that drive effective stakeholder engagement
  • Extensive working knowledge of the principles and practices of effective Project Management
  • Effective collaboration and partnership capabilities and ability to influence at all levels across the organisation
  • Ability to think strategically and execute on change management strategies
  • Very strong organisational skills and an ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent Oral and written communication skills
  • Well-developed influencing skills
  • Proven experience of managing risks and issues across projects , Programs
  • Results driven yet self-aware
  • Strong team collaboration skills
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Working knowledge of MS Project an asset

Knowledge & Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in driving change,
  • Minimum of 5 years in a strategic, leadership role
  • Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree preferred, in Organizational development, Training & Development, Human Resources, Leadership or other related area
  • 3+ year of experience in Project Management, Certification a plus
  • Working knowledge of the Gas Utility business
  • Change Management certification a plus Experience managing high performing teams
  • Experience working in a complex workforce including Union/ Labor Relations
  • Experience designing and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies
