Role Summary:

Based at Dufferin site, Melancthon, Ontario with travelling up to 50% of year across Ontario and 25% of the year in Alberta and USA.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned maintenances and operations of GE wind turbine generators (WTG).
  • Keeping strong adherence to General Electric's EHS policy during maintenance scope.
  • Evaluate maintenance program to reduce scope and increase mean time between scopes.
  • Be disciplined in organization of maintenance records and tooling certifications in accordance with GE quality control policies.
  • Operate GE turbines and turbine interrogation systems.
  • Audit maintenance activities to ensure work performed to GE quality control standards.
  • Troubleshoot, and repair failures, which may occur, and collect data.
  • Conduct electronic troubleshooting using wire and block diagram schematics when needed during maintenance scope.
  • Maintain all computer-generated service records and time sheets using Oracle software.
  • Take responsibility through coordination with manager to ensure necessary tools for maintenance are available when needed.
  • Conduct Lock-out-Tag-out on mechanical, hydraulic and/or electrical systems.

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Technical diploma in a discipline from an accredited institution.
  • At least 2 years' experience in an electrical/mechanical service industry, commercial or residential, preferably in power generation.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Wind turbine or rotating equipment maintenance experience.
  • Hands-on and/or commissioning experience.
  • Strong EHS skills and awareness.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You MUST possess a valid driver's license.
  • You MUST possess an acceptable driving record.
  • You MUST have no barriers to eligibility for United States work visa.
  • You MUST possess the ability to climb steel towers up to 360 feet.
