Responsibilities:The Application Engineer - Protection at SCHWEITZER ENGINEERING LABORATORIES, INC. (SEL) is required to develop, maintain, and improve knowledge of power system protection and all SEL related products. The incumbent will apply the principles of electrical engineering in: (1) helping customers apply SEL products through visits, demonstrations, training courses, and telephone contacts; (2) contributing to product specifications, applications, and testing software and literature; (3) broadcasting new information on product applications and testing to SEL national field offices; (4) participating in SEL marketing and sales activities and industry technical meetings and conferences; (5) teaching in training schools for customers and SEL personnel; and (6) following and improving marketing, sales, and engineering quality procedures.
These full-time positions will be based out of SEL's Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas field office. However, because the company has numerous customers nationwide, some travel is required, as the incumbent will occasionally and on a short-term basis be deployed to various customer sites. Candidates must therefore be willing to travel to various unanticipated locations throughout the United States on an ongoing basis.
