Who You'll Work With

This Corporate Counsel position will provide legal support for Cisco Canada, with primary responsibility for advising the Quebec Sales Team, including being the primary Legal Support for the Quebec Sales Leader.  The engagement and support would cover all aspects of the business, reporting to a Sr. Director in the Service Provider Legal team. 

This role will partner and support the Toronto based legal team, help drive Quebec-specific or Canada wide projects that benefit our customers, clients and legal team throughout the world.

Who You Are

  • The successful candidate will continue to foster the close, supportive and collaborative working model with all other members of the legal team in Canada and Cisco Canada business in Quebec.
  • Responsible for managing policies and ensuring consistency with corporate strategy and business objectives, while maintaining the company's high standards of integrity and ethical and transparent conduct
  • Primary responsibility for structuring, negotiating and drafting customer facing transactions of major impact with large enterprise customers and partners, as well as public sector customers, with flexibility to engage with other customer groups as needed
  • Work closely and seamlessly with other in-country legal staff on commercial transactions, service provider transactions and channel relationships
  • Advise on a broad range of legal disciplines, including compliance/regulatory matters, Intellectual Property, Competition, Privacy, Marketing, commercial contracts, and basic revenue recognition principles
  • Advise and own certain aspects of CASL & Francisation compliance.

The Minimum Qualifications we are looking for:

  • Canadian law degree from a well-respected institution
  • Current Canadian qualification to practice law
  • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience as a trusted advisor and negotiator of complex business transactions in a high-tech sales environment
  • Based in Montreal & fully Bilinqual (English/French)
