Position Objectives
The successful candidate will have the ability to conceptualize, design, test, and maintain new equipment or systems for use in testing electricity meters or ancillary components.
Key Responsibilities
Work with all departments in the organization. Be an integral part of project teams, attend meetings, and offer expertise when needed. This position will be responsible for ensuring consistent and timely execution of assigned design tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, design, and document power monitoring and generating equipment.
- Read and understand complex specifications.
- Must have strong knowledge of single and three phase AC power services, configurations, and loading.
- Must have experience in electricity metering, electric service installations, and an understanding of power factor and AC power harmonics.
- Must have strong knowledge of all types of passive AC power components, including, but not limited to: Potential transformers, Autotransformers, Current transformers, Variable Transformers (Variacs), Reactors/Inductors, Capacitors, and Resistors.
- Experience in electricity metering, electricity meter testing, ANSI regulations, grounding, power safety, and PLC programming is a plus.
- Must have experience in electrical design documentation using AutoCad.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills - communications skills must be effective and courteous, requiring high integrity when dealing with internal and external personnel/departments and potential customers.
- Strong organizational skills. Self-Motivated with ability to work with minimum supervision.
