The General Cable Manchester plant operates with 3 shifts: 3rd Shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 1st Shift (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM) & 2nd Shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM). Changes in volume and production requirements can result in changes in work schedule and additional overtime.
Responsibilities
In this role you will report to the Maintenance Manager. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical circuits, as well as, supporting the daily production activities by installing, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining electrical equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics and parts specifications
- Can troubleshoot and repair basic electrical component issues, i.e., replace ballasts, fuses, circuit breakers, etc.
- Working knowledge of PLCs and automation
- Install, diagnose and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical components of industrial machinery and equipment
- The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in an electrical maintenance atmosphere
- Must provide evidence of electrical training or technical degree
- Must provide their own tools
- Follow established programs, policies and practices that meet regulatory and company requirements
- Maintain communication with other departments, management and associates and notify them of any problems or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production
