Responsibilities:
- Support the client in establishing principles and governing policies over interaction with suppliers, partners and all types of outsourcing while the corporate executives work on the vision, desired target state and the benefits the organization brings to its stakeholders
- At the strategic level - supplement the vision with target capabilities supporting principles and policies and a current state environmental assessment to provide contextual rationale
- At the program level - translate strategic initiatives across all domains into delivery-focused change initiatives
- Support the implementation teams to ensure alignment to the strategy
- Support the client in establishing the solutions development lifecycle to ensure traceability from business objective to implementation and operation
- Document current and target architectures using business process engineering and architecture modeling techniques
- Produce design artifacts documenting solutions from various perspectives including functional informational communications, component and physical viewpoints
- Work collaboratively with utility technology groups and third-party technology vendors to architect integrated solutions based on industry standards and best practices
- Perform various analyses to support business decision-making
- Provide support in research financial analysis and design activities
Qualifications
- University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related business fields
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a Business Architecture role or related areas of expertise
- Competencies in business modeling and process design
- Demonstrated strong business skills and methods including business case development use case development strategic planning and visioning as well as value management
- Experience with organizational design and benefit analysis
- Strong architectural principles experience including views, building block design, solutions modeling
- Demonstrated experience in applying IT best practices and concepts on projects
- Experience in designing solutions in the utility industry involving smart grid technologies will be considered an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Additional languages of French, German, Spanish will be considered an asset
- Available for occasional domestic and some international travel
