Purpose
The incumbent will work on several major information technology projects; performing work involving network assessment, design, engineering, analysis, re-engineering, business case justification, planning, scheduling, procuring and implementing hardware/software solutions to effectively meet current and future business needs. Relevant experience is past work experience in secure network design, implementation and operations for a large scale metropolitan/utility wide area networks. This position will work with network engineers and play an important role in setting technology direction. Experience in deploying and integrating data center and wide are networks utilizing various wired communication technologies such as TDM, Metro Ethernet, data center technologies, and wireless network technologies such LTE and public spectrum.

Major Duties & Responsibilities Responsibilities not limited to but including:
- Assist with the Design and Implementation of a large complex Utility WAN and data center networks.
- Assist and train operational personnel to monitor networks to assess and make recommendations to improve performance.
- Assess the risk of adds, changes, and migrations to the network, plan cutovers.
- Perform firewall architecture, administration, and development of network security model in accordance with industry best practices and approved compliance standards, such as (NERC).
- Interact with equipment vendors, Corporate IT, EE Engineers, field resources, and control center resources.
- Development of MPLS / IP networking standards.
- Contract management and execution, including: RFP's, RFI's, etc.
