Summary

The Power Generation Department's Project Controls group is led by PG&E's Project Controls Supervisor under the direction of Sr. Management, and is responsible for performing analyses, scheduling, collecting, reviewing and interpreting data to support the successful implementation of multiple projects within PG&E's Hydroelectric system. The group is also responsible for developing, maintaining and reporting Sr. Executive level project and portfolio status reports on a portfolio of over 400 projects.  The group provides technical support for multiple systems, databases and project management and analyst related tools.  Additional department functions include development of estimates, and cost analytics for maintenance and capital improvement projects to enhance safety, and improve the condition and performance and reliability of PG&E's Hydroelectric system.

This is a Senior level Project Management Analyst who provides support to a broad portfolio of Hydro Facilities, area Project Management Analysts, a supervisor and Sr. Management.

The position provides project oversight, scheduling, control and analysis for capital and expense improvement projects for PG&E's hydro power and infrastructure facilities.

Multiple projects are supported simultaneously.

The employee also coaches and mentors others, and initiates and leads process improvement efforts. The position requires expert level understanding of project cost and schedule controls and project management, exceptional computer skills, and enhanced verbal and written communication skills. Employee works independently with limited direction and applies judgment to set priorities and complete tasks. Responsibilities may include Privileged and Confidential work.

The position is based out of the Auburn Regional Center and will be responsible for supporting multiple geographic locations (hydro watersheds).  Travel requirements will vary month to month but may as much as 50%. Work schedule is 4 days a week/10 hours a day.

Job Duties

  • Position responsibilities include assisting project leads with management and successful completion of projects, on time and within budget, and assisting supervisors and managers through analysis and
  • reporting on projects and programs.
  • Job Duties will vary by assignment and include those of a Journey level PM Analyst, but demand more in-depth skill and knowledge, involve more complex projects and analyses, and significant autonomy. Duties for Senior level PM Analyst are completed under general direction from project leads and supervisors; complexity and autonomy of assignments increase even further as an employee gains more experience and expertise.
