Responsibilities
Conducts investigations of and affects remediation of reported problems related to voltage complaints. Conducts investigation for customer reported electrical damage complaints. Supports other operation efforts, storm restoration and inspections. Supports Electric System Operations, Asset Management and Power Delivery areas. Supports customers, contractors and other agencies regarding UI distribution facilities.
- Possess knowledge and skills to trouble shoot distribution facilities to determine cause of simple voltage or TVI complaints; still acquiring specialized level skills and will need assistance with complex problems.
- Investigate customer complaints regarding Voltage or TVI, recommend solutions and assist in solution designs. Consult with Distribution Operations Engineers as needed. Prepare work request and provide design estimates as needed.
- Applies knowledge and skills to a range of simple to moderate activities within own area and responds to inquiries from others. Solves simple to moderate problems including new or unusual assignments.
- Works with the customer to ensure Voltage or TVI problems are resolved and the customer understands UI's solution.
- Understands stakeholder needs and identifies solutions to non-standard requests; prioritizes and organizes won work to meet agreed upon deadlines.
- Represents UI at meetings with customers regarding Voltage or Damage issues. Assesses workload and prioritizes own schedule to meet deadlines.
- Provides support and assistance to others as required.
- Maintains OP-E7 Operating procedure database.
- Manages the installation of load recording devices at primary voltage levels.
- Installs and calibrates load test equipment.
- Develops conversion write ups.
- Trouble shoots other equipment such as capacitors bank controls, and recloser controls.
- Has a storm role and maybe called to perform this role at any time.
Skills and Requirements
Associates Degree in an engineering or technical discipline..
