Description
What you will be doing if you are offered this position & accept:

Our Sr. Business Analyst works with IT business partners to manage work initiation requests, develop high level estimates, and own enterprise business analysis for each project.  This individual is responsible for working with leaders at all levels of the IT organization and needs to apply the appropriate level of analysis to projects and look for ways to improve processes to improve productivity.  The person will work closely with the PMO Manager, a team of Project Managers, a Project Test Lead, a team of Test Coordinators, Test Engineers, and a team of Business Systems Analysts.  These teams include team members and contract workers. 

More specifically, the Sr. Business Analyst Primary Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Independently conduct interviews with all levels of business management and department leaders to ascertain business needs, and represent and communicate systems requirements that are specific, accurate, and unambiguous.
  • Serve as a primary IT&T point-of-contact for mid-level business management, addressing the needs of multiple Business Units.
  • Coach and mentor staff in the application of business process modeling techniques.
  • Ensure the resolution of issues and communication of actions to appropriate management staff.
  • Construct and maintain business process models for Business Units and at an Enterprise level.
  • Determine and subset project specific process models from the Enterprise Process Model.
  • Develop strong business and complex system knowledge relating to TECO's entire applications portfolio and how it is used to enable the related business functions.
  • Participate in the creation of User Acceptance Test (UAT) plans during the Requirements Definition phase of the SDLC and review/validate UAT results for alignment with business requirements.

What you must have before you can be considered:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area of study such as: Information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Info Systems, etc , from a regionally accredited college/university.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience, related to the Primary Duties & Responsibilities of this position which includes systems analysis, design, and development.  
  • Project management experience and Program Management Office experience. 
  • Demonstrated sound technical knowledge in areas relating to systems development life cycle (Waterfall, Agile etc.), program management office, project portfolio analysis and system testing.
  • Strong planning and organizing, and interpersonal and collaboration skills.

In addition, the following it will help you stand out above the crowd:

  • Master's Degree in business administration, computer science, management information systems, or information technology related discipline from a regionally accredited college/university.
  • Industry-level certification(s) such as Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or ITIL, etc
