Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of Demonstration Project(s) that advance the goals of REV and align with the Company's long-term strategic interests.
  • Provide strategic and tactical guidance to team members when developing and executing projects to maximize value to business and ensure alignment with broader strategic objectives
  • Ensure successful execution of projects by establishing and meeting schedule and budget goals and identifying and measuring appropriate metrics to ensure project's provide the intended learnings
  • Develop relationships with customers, alternative energy providers, and internal business units to identify new business opportunities, including new revenue models, that advance the Company's position
  • Communicates scope and objectives of demonstration project(s) to various internal and external stakeholders including senior management, all impacted internal working groups, key external stakeholders and policy makers.
  • Develop and manage relationships with other NY utilities to drive alignment and share knowledge and lessons learned related to business models, approach to partnerships, project development, regulatory reporting, etc.
  • Oversee the preparation of regulatory submissions, quarterly reports and interrogatory responses in regulatory proceedings
  • Evaluate regulatory commission statements, recommendation, rulings as well as stakeholder comment filings related to REV to evaluate impact and inform approach to Demonstration Projects.
  • Develop marketing and media relations strategies to communicate goals and benefits of the portfolio of projects to customers and other key stakeholders
  • Represent the Company at industry conferences and meetings with external stakeholders related to the development and execution of demonstration projects.
  • Perform any other tasks necessary to ensure timely and successful development and execution of demonstration projects.

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years relevant experience managing complex organizations and/or projects.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Degree in Engineering or Business preferred; MBA preferred.

Required Work Experience

  • Must have demonstrated ability managing projects with multiple sub-projects, each a project unto itself.
  • Demonstrated work experience leading a fast-paced, project-oriented team preferred
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing information, both technical and financial, and making recommendations based on that information.
  • Demonstrated work experience managing large 3rd party service provider contracts
  • Working knowledge of regulatory processes such as preparation of rate proceedings, responding to commission orders and responses to interrogatories preferred.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills necessary to successfully interface with and influence executives, customers, business partners, regulators, public officials and other external stakeholders.
  • Must have the ability to effectively interact with customers, developers, energy service providers, regulators, Governor's office personnel, and all levels of management.
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of business operations in the areas of engineering, purchasing, contracting, scheduling, logistics, and cost control is preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and must be able to interface with executives, engineers, public officials and other outside agencies.
