As a valued member of the Regional Operations Team, your responsibilities will include: performing transmission line and distribution line inspections using a hand held mobile computer; reviewing work requests; planning corrective action work orders and projects; and, reviewing and closing out work orders using Avantis. You will work with T&D Engineering for engineering requirements and with Supervisors to ensure priority deficiencies are communicated and completed in a timely manner. You will be involved in effectively implementing the Vegetation Management Program in the Avalon Area and responding to related customer requests. You will determine tree trimming and brush clearing requirements; plan work orders including cost estimates; and, supervise the work.

Qualifications include a PowerlineTechnician (Operating) certificate or an Electrical Engineering Technology diploma supplemented by a minimum of five years experience. You must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle driver's license. Proficiency with computer-based programs such as Microsoft Office is necessary. A working knowledge of Avantis,TWR, GIS and Great Plains software would be an asset. Supervisory experience, including oversight of contractors, would also be an asset. You must possess strong computer skills and be able to execute technical tasks with particular attention to detail. Excellent planning, organizational, customer service and contract administration skills, with a keen focus on safety and the environment, are essential to the position. There is a residency requirement for this position, whereby your primary residence must be within 40 km of the Carbonearor Whitbourneoffice. Compensation is as per the Collective Agreement.
