Job Summary

Provides technical leadership for and performs transmission, load flow, LMP, and congestion analysis of PJM and related systems with respect to impacts on Dominion Energy Virginia (DEV) generation, load, and other positions. Serves in an advisory capacity to management, utilizing considerable knowledge of PJM market operations and related systems. Provides integrated analysis of load, generation, and transmission system conditions in the PJM market in concert with DEV load, generation, Auction Revenue Rights (ARR), Financial Transmission Rights (FTR) and other positions in order to provide pricing analysis and actionable position recommendations. Provides analysis and projections for FTR and ARR portfolio positions. Provides forward price, congestion, and price spread projections. Develops analytical tools for use in Energy Supply. Presents analysis of large amounts of data in synthesized, concise form. Acts as technical consultant for Energy Supply, including expert level views of PJM system operation. Maintains and updates LMP models, load flow models, and associated data sets.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience is required.
  • Expert knowledge of LMP modeling tools (e.g. DAYZER) and LMP analytical theory
  • Expert knowledge of PJM or other RTOs/ISOs, and experience with FTR/ARR markets.
  • Expert knowledge of power system load flow analysis.
  • Expert knowledge of optimization techniques and application of statistical theory.
  • Expert knowledge of data analytics tools and ability to access and manage large volumes of data.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices.
  • Equally effective working independently or in team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to think analytically and solve complex problems.
  • Strong planning and organizing and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing skills.
  • Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or more rounds to one full year of qualifications.

The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications.
Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined.

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor, Other Education: Economics, Engineering, Applied Math.
