Dominion Energy Ohio operates 19,767 miles of distribution, 1,007 miles of transmission and 844 miles of gathering pipelines. The company complies with all U.S. Department of Transportation and Public Utilities Commission of Ohio pipeline safety regulations. As part of its pipeline safety commitment, Dominion Energy Ohio launched its $4 billion, 25-year Pipeline Infrastructure Replacement (PIR) project in 2008. As of the end of 2019, the company already has invested $1.8 billion to replace 1,900 miles of bare metal pipeline with corrosion-resistant coated steel and plastic line. PIR will involve the eventual replacement of more than 5,500 miles of the company's 22,000-mile pipeline system.
Dominion Energy is committed to reducing methane emissions from its gas infrastructure operations 65 percent from 2010 levels by 2030 and 80 percent from 2010 levels by 2040. In February of 2020, Dominion Energy announced a significant expansion of the company's overall greenhouse gas emissions-reduction goals, establishing a new commitment to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. PIR is a key element in the company's overall methane reduction efforts.
The Position
This is a critical position within the Design and Construction team to help ensure Dominion Energy Ohio maintains a safe and reliable natural gas distribution system which complies with State and federal regulations. This is an expert level position in the engineering job family. This position will promote a safety and accountability culture throughout all levels of the organization with an emphasis on learning from the past and anticipating the future. It is distinguished by being able to perform difficult and complex work requiring thorough knowledge of the subject matter and significant experience within the design and construction functional area. Incumbents are expected to provide technical expertise and/or team leadership as needed.
Job Summary
Provide multi-discipline engineering teams with strong technical and project management consultation within a discipline, engineering section or for major engineering design and construction projects. Possesses and applies advanced knowledge and technical skills to solve complex engineering problems, or to plan and coordinate larger scale engineering projects or varied assignments requiring diverse knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Provide expert technical consultation and assessment on engineering problems and projects to engineering and construction personnel. Serve as a management consultant on complex engineering problems and issues during all phases (planning through construction) of a project life cycle. Consults staff on technical, financial, and service commitments to internal and external customers. Provide consultation and mentorship to staff at all levels. May perform independent research to find innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions to operational problems. May provide expert technical support of special projects across multiple departments and business units. Provide oversight and support of quality assurance and quality control initiatives across design and construction departments. Provide and/or support others with oversight of consultants and design vendors work product Provide and/or support project scoping and initial cost estimating.

- 7-8+ years of relevant engineering experience;

REQUIRED ENGINEERING CRITERIA:
For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met:
Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering program based on the year that the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or
Possess a 4-year engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited program and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Possess a 4-year degree in Physics, Chemistry or Math and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.
