JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a motivated Machinist to join our company. As part of our team you will follow blueprints, determine material measurements, and take responsibility for fabricating parts used in later assembly processes. You are responsible for the quality of your output. Work hours are Monday through Thursday with ten hour shifts. Fridays are off. Training provided.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Operates and maintains lathe and milling machines.
- Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.
- Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
- Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
- Conserves materials by minimizing waste.
- Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.
- Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Follows safety regulations such as wearing protective face coverings/glasses, gloves, and safety shoes.
- Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
- Performs other duties as requested by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of required level of education.
- Minimum of formal apprenticeship or vocational training as a machinist required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 0-2 years of machinist experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in math.
- Working knowledge of safety protocols.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced team environment.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not required):
- Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly.
- Basic computer skills.
