Job Summary:
The Volume Balancing Analyst position plays an integral role in our operational and financial capability at Just Energy. The successful candidate will have good industry experience, exceptional attention to detail, a very analytical mind, and great work ethic, along with a drive to consistently seek out new information and ideas to support Just Energy's business. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Helping to enter, and maintain pipeline transportation and storage contracts in ETRM system
- Helping to enter capacity releases
- Helping to maintain pipeline demand rates
- Helping to enter and maintain pipeline fuel rates for natural gas pipelines per the tariffs and invoices
- Helping to make sure that PAL contracts are captured in ETRM accurately
- Helping with natural gas actualization for assigned pipelines
- Help reconcile cuts on assigned pipelines
- Help make sure that storage and PAL balances are captured correctly in ETRM
- Performing other analysis as needed
- Schedule and nominate gas on pipelines that Just Energy use to transport gas to these utility companies including Transco, Dominion Transmission, Columbia Gas, Tennessee, National Fuel, Millennium, Iroquois, Texas Eastern,
- Enter pipeline transportation and storage contracts as well as daily and monthly nomination activity into deal capture system and make sure system entries match actual nominations.
- Monitor pool usage and balances through the LDC's Electronic Bulletin Boards or direct communications with LDC Operations Personnel
- Assist in the identification and quantification of all volumetric imbalances
- Communicate with external counterparties like Suppliers, Pipeline Companies, and Utilities to build and maintain strong business relationships.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1-3 years' experience in a natural gas scheduling role
- Strong operational knowledge of pipeline, LDC operations and industry standard practices
- Self-starter, results-oriented with proven previous success at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks of varying complexities in the context of operational impact and corporate goals, as well as meeting tight deadlines.
- Excellent quantitative, communications, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Proven logical and analytical problem-solving abilities. Comfort with numerical and financial analysis.
- Strong proficiency and technical knowledge of MS Excel (knowledge of macros, and Visual Basic would be an asset)
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.
