You will have the ability to plan, schedule, assign, route, and over sees operations of the Meter Shop. Provide work prioritization, work directions and training for the Meter Shop employees to ensure safe, cost-effective results that meet customer and company specifications. Includes additional responsibilities and duties as necessary to accomplish the management of materials and operations of the Meter Shop.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Document, support, monitor, and train others on assigned tasks and projects.
- Lead the Meter Shop employees by directing daily activities and checking that work is conducted in accordance with company standard procedure and adherence to safe work practices and governing policies and regulations.
- Report on meters that are sorted for disposal according to retirement policy and/or set aside for repair.
- Monitor sample meters that are tested, and tests are recorded according to policy.
- Evaluate the quality of repairs that are made either by Meter Shop employees or third-party vendors.
- Support Supervision by checking Meter Shop employees on functions, methods, procedures, company standards and safe work practices in the evaluation, repair, testing and documenting of meter shop operations.
- Maintain warehouse inventory on all materials and supplies pertaining to Gas Operations, work with support staff to have information updated in SAP including performing inventory to maintain necessary supply of critical materials.
- Keep supervisor and management current on all pertinent matters related to Meter Shop operations.
- Inspect and maintain all equipment and tools used in daily operation to ensure safe work practices.
- Inform Supervision on training needs on the use of hand tools and power tools and documents training provided.
- Plan and conduct tailgate meetings. Participates in Safety and Supervisor meetings.
- Must demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, the Company's Ethics and Compliance Code, and other Company policies and procedures, and take all required training courses.
- Must demonstrate respect for all individuals and adhere to the Company's values and business practices.
- Maintain updated documentation for configuration/installation of hardware and software for measurement, monitoring, control, and communication equipment.
- Assist and support Gas Measurement/SCADA Engineer(s) on testing, evaluating, and monitoring new equipment and process procedures.
- Communicate and support Gas Operations on material needs and order requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Your background includes:
- Requires either a high school diploma or the equivalent knowledge of English, Grammar, and Mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages).
- Requires at least seven years of applicable natural gas distribution operations experience, including at least three years of experience with meter, regulator, instrumentation repair or troubleshooting. Preferably a small electronics certificate, and/or experience.
A bonus to have:
- Able to work in shop, office, and field environments, including ability to tolerate exposure to all weather conditions; hot, dirty and/or greasy equipment and noise.
- Able to exert up to (50) pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Able to work in fast-paced environment with a high-volume workload and frequent, short deadlines that may require more than a 40-hour work week to meet established deadlines, including working nights and/or weekends as required.
- Able to travel outside of primary work location, in any weather conditions and occasionally overnight, to field locations, remote areas, conferences and/or meetings.
- Able to demonstrate the manual dexterity to operate a personal computer effectively.
- Able to view a personal computer monitor or laptop screen, sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
- Able to operate office machines including telephone, photocopier, fax machine, calculator, scanner, etc.
- Able to operate a motor vehicle.
- Able to support the Emergency Operating Plan.
- Able to work indoors, in an office environment, regardless of whether open office, cubicle or private office.
- Able to travel occasionally, possibly overnight.
