Based in our Sherman, TX, location, the Instruments & Electronics Technician will support all aspects of instrument and electronic repair and troubleshooting and will provide programming expertise for plant automation equipment.
We currently have Instruments & Electronics Technician positions available for 1st and 2nd shift. 1st shift hours are from 6:00AM - 2:00PM and 2nd shift hours are from 2:00PM - 10:00PM.
AS AN INSTRUMENTS & ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL:
- Design, troubleshoot, and repair high and low voltage electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
- Interact with Supervisors, Project Managers, and/or Engineers on new product development or process development projects.
- Provide programming/support for all programmable logic controllers, automated systems/equipment, and controls.
- Develop schedules and monitor those schedules to ensure completion of new product / process projects on time.
- Continually look for and report production cost reductions and improvements.
- Regularly back up all manufacturing, automation, programmable logic controllers, and coordinate measuring machine programs.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- Formal Instruments & Electronics education via trade/vocational school, military, or other industrial electrical certification or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 2 years work experience in electrical and instrumentation position
- Working knowledge of electrical and pneumatic systems along with programmable logic controls and programming.
- Experience with human-machine interfaces and variable frequency drives.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits from 24 volts of direct current to 480v volts alternating current.
- AutoCAD or equivalent experience
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing design/application in engineering
- Bill of Materials construction experience in a related industry
- Lean manufacturing experience
