Position Description
- Support the mission of the Department of Law Enforcement and Security by conducting detailed criminal and civil investigations statewide, assisting with physical security and critical infrastructure protection countermeasures, and maintaining relevant outside contacts in order to protect Santee Cooper personnel and property.
Essential Job Tasks:
- Conducts detailed criminal and civil investigations statewide to include obtaining and documenting facts, interviewing suspects, victims and witnesses, processing crime scenes, and obtaining physical evidence.
- Makes arrests, serves warrants and subpoenas and conducts background investigations as appropriate.
- Acts as liaison between local, state and federal law enforcement and Santee Cooper.
- Assists in the administration, deployment, and maintenance of physical security and critical infrastructure protection countermeasures.
- Conducts physical security reviews and assessments to ensure the protection of critical infrastructure assets.
- Participates in various internal criminal / non-criminal inquiries, threat assessments, and counter-terrorism measures and programs.
Position Requirements
- Bachelors Degree + 8 years of experience.
- Must be certified as a Level I Law Enforcement Officer by the State of South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.
