Under the supervision of US SBU T&D EHS Manager, this person will be responsible of the implementation and continuous improvement of the Safety Management System - SMS for IP&L T&D Businesses; with special focus in the company safety culture and performance (Objectives, Goals, KPIs), AES EHS Standards compliance, and applicable EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) regulations
The IP&L Safety Specialist III, will provide leadership and technical expertise for EHS programs and initiatives across the company being responsible for:
- Maintain compliance with all applicable EHS regulations, AES EHS Standards, and other requirements adopted by the business.

Prepare Annual Work Plans to achieve safety objectives and goals, with the approval of US SBU T&D EHS Manager.

Maintain and continually improve the Safety Management System (SMS), Control of documents and Proactive Safety Programs in IP&L Businesses.

Support compliance with the Annual Program of Internal and External AES EHS Audits in IP&L Businesses.

Ensure hierarchy of controls in General Hazard Assessment and Risk Analysis, Job Hazard Analysis and Job Safety Analysis.

Implementation and monitoring of the Incident Management Program per OSHA and AES EHS Standards. SIP Incident Investigation using TapRoot Methodology.

Develop and deliver EHS related orientation and training programs for IP&L employees.

Visit job sites and facilities to conduct Safety Walks, Work Activity Observations, Safety Inspections, and follow up.

Maintain and continually improve the Contractor Management Program compliance and Special Projects.

Active participation in cross functional activities with DP&L EHS Team.
Additional Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Security Management / Preferred

Bilingual is a plus

AES Online maintenance for all Safety modules requirements.

Host OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) visits to IP&L Businesses.

Active Participation in weekly, monthly safety meetings.

Safety Reports in a weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.

Safety Council Committee active participation and counseling.

Active participation in Safety Day planning and execution.

Active participation in EHS Leaders Monthly Call.

Planning and execution of Safety Drill, according to the Emergency Action Plan.

Active participation in Control of Documents review, implementation and control.
-
Planning and execution of General Safety Orientation for Contractors during Recovery Emergency Plan as a result of storms
