As a member of the Systems Monitoring, Diagnostics and Controls (SDC) Section of the Operations Technical Services Department, the Engineering Support Coordinator is an advanced-level position performing various complex and paraprofessional engineering support activities. You will be responsible for engineering support projects and may perform engineering functions under the general supervision of engineers. You will coordinate and manage broad engineering projects as a project technical support leader in close partnership with engineers.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Supports the management of engineering work orders for OEG-SDC, and provides technical assistance, expertise, and basic engineering principles to customers

Engineering and project management of small/medium projects under the guidance of an engineer. Includes project conception and design, equipment specifications, material requirements, and project drawings

Researches best practices and benchmarking, technical manuals, plans, catalogs, products, equipment, and historic records

Review, analyzes, and resolves customer requests and determines the most cost-effective means to remedy each situation

Develop testing processes and procedures with oversight by an engineer

Perform and document performance testing and inspections with oversight by an engineer. Includes maintaining test equipment, acquiring and analyzing field data, and preparing reports

Data entry and verification for unit condition and performance statistics

Analyzing existing and proposed systems to assist in decision-making processes; generating creative solutions; offering new ideas and concepts that may impact efficiency and reduce costs; Identifying and recommending solutions to problems in a timely manner
Who you are... While you probably have at least an Associate's Degree (typically in Engineering, AutoCAD/Design, Construction Management, or a closely related field) or completion of an approved apprenticeship program and have demonstrated experience in a related field, an Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering Degree is desired. We are also most interested in your accomplishments in the following areas (so please be sure to highlight these in your application and/or resume):

Coordinating initial design and completion of projects; water treatment, wastewater treatment and/or power generation infrastructure project experience is preferred

Negotiating with customers to determine needs and analyzing cost/benefit options and making recommendations on job estimates

Coordinating multiple projects throughout the various construction phases

Demonstrated excellence in preparing construction drawings, schematics, and contract documents using AutoCAD and other computer-based applications
