Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT PMO Lead to join our organization. As the IT PMO Lead, you will be responsible for establishing and leading our IT Project Management Office (PMO). You will oversee the management of IT projects, drive project governance, establish project management processes and standards, and ensure successful project delivery. The ideal candidate has a strong background in IT project management, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of implementing effective PMO practices.

PMO Leadership and Strategy:

  • Establish and lead the IT Project Management Office (PMO), defining its mission, goals, and objectives.
  • Develop and implement PMO strategies, processes, and methodologies to optimize project management practices across the organization.
  • Drive the alignment of IT projects with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Foster a culture of project management excellence and continuous improvement within the PMO.

Project Governance and Standards:

  • Develop and implement project governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and best practices.
  • Define and enforce project management methodologies, tools, templates, and guidelines.
  • Establish project review and approval processes to maintain project quality and consistency.
  • Conduct project audits and assessments to ensure adherence to established standards and identify areas for improvement.

Portfolio Management:

  • Oversee the management of the IT project portfolio, including project prioritization, resource allocation, and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Facilitate the evaluation and selection of projects, considering strategic fit, resource availability, and business impact.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and resource utilization to ensure portfolio health and project success.
  • Provide visibility into the project portfolio, reporting on key metrics, risks, and issues to senior management.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with executive leadership, business units, and IT teams to understand project requirements and align with organizational goals.
  • Act as a key point of contact for project-related inquiries, escalations, and communications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring their needs are understood and addressed.
  • Present project updates, performance reports, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

Team Management and Development:

  • Build and lead a high-performing PMO team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
  • Define roles and responsibilities within the PMO, ensuring clarity and accountability.
  • Develop and nurture a culture of collaboration, professional growth, and knowledge sharing.
  • Identify training needs, provide development opportunities, and support career progression of PMO team members

Qualifications

  • 10+ years' experience in IT, a broad background in a wide range of software, project management, and major project implementations on cross functional projects.
  • 5+ or more years of information systems or relevant business experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Project & Document, and Engineering systems.
  • Previous work in Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in IT project management and leading a PMO or similar function.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience in project governance, portfolio management, and project delivery.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • PMP or other relevant certifications are highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in the IT industry or a technology-driven organization is preferred.
