- Proactively leads the Contract and Risk Management community in the identification and mitigation of contractual and commercial risks.
- Personally oversees the development of commercial strategies and directly supports negotiations of significant risks and opportunities.
- Ensures appropriate strategies and action plans are in place and being executed for all risks and opportunities.
- Working closely with their Project Management peers, leads a contract management community that is accountable for the mitigation of contractual and commercial risks across the New Units project portfolio.
- Drives rigorous assessment and documentation of risks and associated mitigation plans.
- Ensures the balance between risk and opportunities and mitigates exposure to risk and claims whilst at the same time preserving GE Contract entitlements and rights (to additional time and money)
- Seeks actively for commercial opportunities within the contractual frame (e.g. change orders)
- Drives insurance claims
- Act as a source of expert commercial/contract advice for the Gas Power Projects Executive Leadership Team as well as for the Regional Contracts Leaders and the regional execution teams.
- Review CM resource levels and ensure each P&L and/ or regions has the proper level of resource for current and future needs (facilitates transfer of CM resources between regions)
- Continue to drive the contract management as a function / community within Gas Projects:
- define role & responsibilities, put in place the governance, methodologies & tools, set standards, share best practices and lessons learnt
- Leverage and build knowledge of contract management
- Drive strategic initiatives with the CM community
- Identify any training / development needs and ensure that these are met. Develop, maintain and continually improve a training curriculum for the CM Community.
- Support and guide Regional Contract Managers in developing their contract management resources and competencies
- Works closely with PMO in the deployment of metrics and KPIs to drive improved performance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent knowledge or experience
- Significan years of experience in contract management, project management or legal and knowledge of written business contracts
- Previous experience leading a team
- Experience with complex, international contracts
Desired Characteristics:
