This position will be primarily tasked with developing and using analytic tools to identify strategically important opportunities in the B&W GP&S products markets, including a focus on competitor equipment. Identify sales patterns and provide input to the development of sales strategies for customers and market segments, that will result in sales leads for B&W sales and sales representatives to aggressively pursue.

Additional responsibilities includes analysis and publishing analytics tools in support of others in B&W so that they may also identify and follow up on and manage opportunities for strategic improvements in pricing, cost savings, lead time improvement, product/deliverable quality, product offering, etc. 

An important focus will be to continue to coordinate and expand the B&W Rewards customer loyalty program, assisting in all aspects of the program from prospect identification to rebate payout.

Previous experience with current analytical software and techniques is essential, as well as the ability to successfully identify, prioritize, and pursue targeted opportunities aligned with B&W product strategies.

  • Develop strong relationships, establishing and maintaining effective communication with GP&S product lines and other internal customers, field service, B&W sales and sales reps, to partner in pursuit of opportunities < >Actively maintaining communication channels, and utilize internal/external customer feedback to develop an implement successful strategiesIdentify and prioritize opportunities and support following up strategies in support of market and financial goals Assess issues and opportunities with all B&W internal departments and customer facing departments to focus required resources to improve overall profit and EBITA goals.Develop analytics, prioritize, and balance the needs of the business, information, and analytic workload and capabilities and manage analytic projects from start to finish to meet time lines, budgets, and objectives.
  • Working with and through others, responsible for importing, cleansing, transforming, validating, aggregating and analyzing data from various sources to make, or aid in making, assessments or conclusions about customers / industry trends, leading indicators.
  • Gather data from multiple sources (internal and external) and assimilate into meaningful inputs for databases and analysis. < >Developing and implement databases and or EBS data connections to define new processes, improvement opportunities in business system usage for improved data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and qualityRefine internal and external reporting in support of business development initiatives such as the B&W Rewards customer loyalty program.
  • Utilize the latest B&W provided software, working with others and IT as needed, to develop analytic tools in support of identifying business opportunities and in support of other B&W departments so that they can perform their own business analytics and process improvements.
  • Strong ability to self-manage numerous active opportunities is critical
  • Leadership ability to bring together multiple parties throughout B&W and gain buy-in to achieve objectives

Qualifications

A Data Analytics Specialist must have the ability to present findings, or translate data into understandable documents, including strengths in writing, presentation creation, and speaking clearly to communicate complex ideas.

  • Strong critical thinking, analytical thinking skills, and math skills required
  • Proven ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good business communication skills
  • Advanced Power BI skills including report creation and DAX are a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Access skills, including the skills to design and create databases with multiple tables, and design and create queries is a plus.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Bachelor's Degree and related work experience are required
