Position Overview

Provide entry level customer service/support functions, with an emphasis on telephone contact, answering customer questions about products, price and delivery, taking orders, and expediting orders.  

Duties and Responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities:  Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Answer miscellaneous customer inquiries for basic information for our smaller, less prominent customers (verbal, fax or other):

  • Quote price and delivery;
  • Providing proper part numbers;
  • Provide order status and other pertinent information.

Process customer orders, checking specifications and terms/conditions, entering basic orders on the computerized order entry system, and assigning the following:

  • Customer number
  • Price codes
  • Commission terms
  • P.O. number
  • Part numbers/quantity

Research customer problems/complaints, troubleshooting and expediting orders via interdepartmental channels.

Provide clerical support to the other members of the region or overall department when required.

Serve as a liason to regional sales representatives, supporting their needs when they are in the field.

Skills and Experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years customer service experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Communication Skills:  Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Computer Skills:  Must have strong Microsoft Office, email, other PC application skills and SAP R/3 or similar operating system experience.
  • Problem Solving:  Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.
