Responsibilities
The Communications Consultant on the Customer Communications team is a customer-focused role that helps drive customer satisfaction through creative content delivered effectively across a range of channels paid, owned and social media. This role works directly with executives, leaders and other internal clients to develop and implement strategic communications plans that reflect voice of the customer and market solutions and offerings under compelling value propositions. This role also oversees the company's social media strategy and channels. The role includes project managing, writing and editing and works in collaboration with a cross-functional team to ensure alignment of messaging across channels. Work is performed with minimal direction and within the context of a strong team philosophy.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, English, Communications or related field and five years related writing/editing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, software application skills including word processing and desktop publishing, and solid project management skills.
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:
Campaign experience where success relied on differentiating content to get audiences' attention using a strategic mix of channels and platforms
Experience using audience and channel data to inform strategies.
Experience leading cross-departmental teams and/or providing strategic counsel to senior leaders.
Understanding of market segmentation and effective audience targeting.
Experience with editorial calendar planning and management.
Experience with social media management and monitoring tools.
Graphic design or video editing skills in programs such as Adobe Spark.
Familiarity with web content management systems or email marketing systems.
Spanish language skills.
Major Accountabilities
1) Consults with internal clients to assist achievement of their respective business goals. This includes advice on strategy, positioning, messages and media mix.
2) Develops and provides leadership for the implementation of strategic communication plans directed to a variety of targeted internal/external audiences.Oversees the company social media strategy and channels, maintaining broad knowledge of and keeping up with industry trends on social media and digital marketing.
3) Directs a variety of communication activities including writing, editing, scripting, producing and distributing media such as collateral materials, memos, brochures, flyers, posters, articles, and letters.
4) Designs, plans, processes and communicates accurate, complex information to a variety of targeted internal/external audiences, ensuring on-time delivery.
5) Maintains a broad-based knowledge of business or industry technologies and issues, including specific knowledge of the electric utility industry.
6) Maintains quality standards and adheres to communication plans.
7) Manages resources within time and budget constraints by coordinating the use of internal suppliers, vendors and outside agencies.
8) Maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality.
