Description
Responsibilities

 Technical resource responsible for performing enterprise network planning, engineering, installation, documentation and diagnostics. Serves as the Network Services liaison for the local operating company.  Uses independent judgment and discretion to analyze, schedule, acquire, implement and document network hardware, software and facilities for assigned projects.
 Resolves complex technical network problems for hardware and software utilizing a variety of tools.Responds to requests for voice and data communications connectivity that are related to moves, additions and changes within the customer community.Identifies, evaluates and recommends new network technologies and products.Monitors network performance and ensure capacity planning is performed, and assesses and makes recommendations for improvement. Interfaces with the Network Operations Center (NOC) and other IT groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance

Skills and Requirements

 At least 5 years of network engineering experience.
 Demonstrated experience in the design/Implementation of enterprise network systems along with troubleshooting complex enterprise network systems.
 Fully proficient in the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of workgroup switches, campus switches, routers, dial- in/dial-out central sites; DSU/CSU hardware, SDWAN, SDN, Wireless and use of protocol analyzers, cable scanners and other network test equipment.
 General proficiency in the configuration, implementation and maintenance of complex routed and switched network architectures; design, configuration, implementation of SONET, ATM, Frame Relay, T1, and Fractional T1 wide area architectures and in the configuration of BGP, EIGRP, RIP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, WINS and TCP/IP and other complex network protocols/services; design and maintenance of the network architecture to support distributed processing client/server topologies.
 Required Education:  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.  Equivalent work experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
