JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our Assessments & Integrated Implementation team in the role of Assistant Technical Engineer/Officer located in Bowmanville, Ontario.

Reporting to the Manager - Projects, the Assistant Technical Engineer/Officer will be providing oversight on the execution different project activities in collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure desired deliverables are achieved on time and within the budget.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 
    Plan, organize, and provide support for variety of project activities and deliverables within the department;
    Oversee and execute multi-faceted projects and programs;
    Working with a multi-disciplined team of engineering and technical specialists to support the execution of various projects associated with Darlington next Re-Licencing process;
    Maintaining written documented processes and procedures to reflect improved work programs;
    Co-ordinate the clarification of specification requirements, and arrange for necessary changes and/or co-ordinate technical work as required in a number of major work areas;
    Maintain and/or update operating and other specified department/divisional procedures;
    Provide technical evaluations and advice, solve problems and coordinate technical work as required, in a number of major work areas, in support of the Darlington Licencing Renewal process ;
    Gather input from stakeholder departments and agencies to ensure project requirements are captured and detailed in the project documents.

EDUCATION
    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Applied Science with a preference for Electrical, Process Control & Automation or I&C
    Candidate must be a fully licensed engineer in the province of Ontario, or be eligible to be licensed in the Province of Ontario.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
    Ideal candidates will have worked in a Nuclear Engineering environment or similar critical industries such as: Aerospace and Oil & Gas;
    Experience in Project Management will be an asset;
    Experience and ability as a team player to understand and manage the interrelationships of various internal and external groups in order to facilitate objectives and ensure projects satisfy stakeholder requirements;
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver reports, briefings, project plans;
    Strong interpersonal skills to work with maintenance and operation teams in technical support capacity;
    Have a strong interest in fast-paced, challenging work environments where showing initiative and self motivation are assets;
    Proven track record on delivering results;
    Strong in understanding, executing and following governance and procedures with a questioning and analytical attitude/approach under minimum required supervision.
