Job Description/Responsibilities

One of primary objectives of this position will be developing, implementing, improving, and maintaining the Enviance Modules used by Environmental Services. The employee will also lead maintenance and enhancements of the Department and EMS SharePoint sites. This employee should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and exhibit agility, a cultural value our Company. The position will require working with a variety of applications, software, statistical data and metric solutions including visual displays and dashboards. This position will assist with the development of practical work instructions prepared for Business Partners and End-Users as well as reports and presentations prepared for Executive management. Frequently, the employee will act as a liaison between Departmental employees, system end users, and management. This position will require technical interaction with vendors and internal IT Departments, , Learning & Development and SharePoint Development Teams to develop and/or enhance software capabilities. This individual contributor will provide technical support to resolve complex problems; participate in User Acceptance Testing to evaluate new or improved software solutions. The employee will also support other Team initiatives including Environmental Procedures, the Compliance Assurance Assessment Program and other EMS functions.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Less than 1 year of work experience.  A Bachelor's degree in applicable field. 
  • Less than a Bachelor's degree may be acceptable if accompanied by extensive Company or industry experience in positions that demonstrate required abilities and performance.

An associate or bachelor's degree in a related field is beneficial but not required. The candidate should have the capability to work independently and as part of a team. The selected candidate must be trustworthy, proactive, self-motivated, and organized. The candidate needs to have excellent communications skills and the ability to interface with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Prior experience in the Enviance Modules for Consumers Energy is a plus; however, the opportunity exists to learn the Enviance System Module.

The selected candidate shall have a moderate to advanced understanding of, and experience with, most of the following systems and software:

  • Consumers Energy Enviance
  • Excel
  • SharePoint 2020
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Adobe Pro
  • Visio
  • PowerPoint

Experience with the following is also preferred:

  • Tableau/Power BI
  • SAP
  • GIS

The employee should also possess technical skills in program design and coding to provide program capability assessments and assist and/or page design.

Essential Functions

The Environmental Technical Analyst supports the planning, technical analysis, general management, negotiations, transactions, customer service and auditing of a wide variety of technical and business functions and technical processes of specific operating and support areas throughout the Company. Duties and who this individual works with will fluctuate between projects, departments, and offices. Use computer assisted applications software and equipment to prepare technical support documents. Understand and follow company established standard procedures for file structure and standard procedures for projects. Assist in client contact and communication. Utilize effective communication skills to answer inquiries from coworkers and Business Partners.    Attend internal and external meetings.  Provide technical support services in a legal and ethical manner.
