Job Summary:

The ERCOT Power Trading Desk is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the team and support commercial operations for our integrated Texas portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a broad range of activities including: position reporting; P&L reporting; load and generation analytics; fundamental analysis; financial modeling; research, and ad hoc trading support. This role is intended to provide the foundation for high performers to advance to a power trading career. This position is located in Princeton, NJ.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform short-term portfolio analysis, daily P&L reporting, and position reconciliations
  • Develop and update comprehensive models to analyze commodity markets
  • Assist with ERCOT Congestion Revenue Right (CRR) auction processes
  • Conduct research as needed to identify possible trading opportunities

Working Conditions:

  • NERC-CIP regulated trading floor environment
  • Evening and weekend work may be required based on business needs

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • A strong interest in physical and financial power and natural gas markets
  • Strong spreadsheet, programming, and presentation skills
  • Quantitative proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient coder of SQL, and an object-oriented programming language (Ruby, Python, VBA).
  • Minimum two (2) years of work experience in a quantitative role

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and adhere to deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
  • Must be a creative thinker with strong investigative and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
