Position Summary:
Maintains, calibrates and troubleshoots power plant emission monitoring systems in support of efficient generation and compliance of power under varying conditions.
Primary Duties:
- Directs activities of emission monitoring contractors and vendors.
- Serves as a mentor and assists with training entry level technicians.
- Performs complex maintenance, configuration and calibration of emission monitoring systems utilized in the compliance demonstration in electrical generation.
- Provides technical support to lead I&C/ICE technicians in emission control schemes.
- Schedules and coordinates daily activities with peer operations personnel and is able to negotiate scheduling conflicts.
- Direct, plan and conduct assignments of a complex nature serving in a lead role.
- Provide detailed troubleshooting and programming enhancements to hardware and software vendors.
- Serves as a technical resource to operations personnel and lower technician positions.
- Troubleshoots and maintains all AC/DC control circuits and components.
- Serves as a technical resource for capital projects in the area of emission monitoring.
- May serve as the interface between testing contractors, plant operations, and/or regulatory agencies assuring test plans and methods are adhered to during compliance testing.
- Strong regulatory knowledge for air emission monitoring requirements (40 CFR parts 60, 63 and 75).
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree in a Technical discipline (i.e. Electronics, Engineering Technology, Power Plant Operations, etc.) And 5 years related I&C, industrial controls or equivalent military experience;.
- Bachelor's Degree in any field And 5 years experience maintaining instrumentation and controls or testing equipment and 5 years experience maintaining emission monitoring systems;.
- 2 years journey level experience in a craft technical/mechanical role);.
- Prior military experience at the journey level or one enlistment completed with DD Form 214 Discharge Papers and Separation Documents..
- Primary authorized employee (PAE) certification for required systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated leadership in Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture.
- Advanced knowledge of fundamental instrumentation and control concepts.
- Advanced knowledge of maintenance and quality assurance practices of emission monitoring hardware.
- Strong knowledge of emission monitoring systems and components.
- Strong ability to communicate with individuals at various levels throughout the organization.
- Advanced computer skills using MS Office, SAP, DAHS and remote access software to the analyzers, dataloggers and plc (i.e. iPort and iNet).
- Advanced knowledge of analyzer, dataloggers, PLC and DAHS communication protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret advanced Instrumentation and control drawings.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude in the use of hand tools.
- Demonstrated ability to take on additional responsibility.
- Advanced knowledge of AC/DC control circuits and components.
- Strong knowledge of OG&E's Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) and the demonstrated ability to follow the procedures within the plan.
- Strong knowledge of the measurement technologies utilized in the monitoring of emissions (i.e. ultrasonic, laser, infrared, chemiluminenscence etc.).
