Description

The Commercial Contract Manager will have a strategic lead on development and negotiation of T&C's, NDA, Change Orders and MSA's working hand in hand with the Project Managers and Proposal Managers on both pre and post proposal efforts.  The Commercial Contract Manager will also support B&W Legal group for support of any Global Projects Claims, Mediation and Litigation.  Though this position does report to the VP of Project Office there is also matrix reporting to Estimating and Proposal Management.   This role is crucial to the business profitability by ensuring margins are protected through robust contract management throughout the life cycle of a project.

  • Negotiates contract terms with new customers successfully
  • Understands and implements corporate legal practices and governance philosophies
  • Lead T&C discussions and strategies with Project and Proposal Managers in proposal phase.
  • Works with Project Management to ensure Change Orders are processed promptly and correctly
  • Consistently work to improve change order process, work with VP Project Office to ensure training and implementation is adhered to.   
  • Provide support to B&W legal for claims brought against Global Projects group
  • Understands customer contract limitations and how to work within them, while protecting risks
  • Communicates to business managers the strategic risks necessary to acquire new customers
  • Develops and communicates strategies with Project and Proposal Managers to manage risks and opportunities
  • Collaborates with and coordinates diverse teams (Project Managers, Legal, Sales, etc.)
  • Turns legal redlines into customer-facing documents with commentary and priorities listed
  • Works to build and maintain beneficial partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Assists sales with customer relationships and strategies to obtain MSAs and NDA's with new customers
  • Ensures compliance with contracting guidelines or obtains deviations when necessary
  • These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years of experience in the Renewable Construction industry
  • 3+ years of recent work experience within the wind, solar or BESS contracting area
  • Excellent instincts and commercial awareness coupled with a strategic mindset
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-Starter and Self Motivated
  • Able to work with minimum management oversight
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have strong negotiation skills
  • Possess a collaborative mindset and works well as part of a team
  • Superior time management abilities and capable of meeting deadlines
  • Up to date on industry trends, as well as laws and regulations
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and industry contacts
  • Great multi-tasking abilities and attention to detail
